4 Students Complete a Summer Research Experience (REU)

Last summer, four students from across the nation completed a 10-week intensive research experience in electrical engineering and computer science. Through the National Science Foundation’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program, students worked closely with U of A faculty members on innovative STEM projects and presented their work at an end-of-summer poster fair open to the campus and local community. The value of this experience extends well beyond undergraduate study, providing real-world applications, industry exposure, and valuable one-on-one mentorship.

Congratulations to the four students who worked under the mentorship of Alan Mantooth and successfully completed the 2025 REU program: Youssef Ali Ahmed, William Bowles, Jared Galindo Hernandez, and Jacob McNutt. To learn more about the REU program, click here.
