Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)
Interested in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)?
Join the University of Arkansas Power Group this summer for a 10-week paid research experience. The REU program offers students the unique opportunity to attend research seminars, participate in networking events, and showcase their work at the end-of-summer symposium. Participants will explore graduate-level research alongside faculty mentors and current graduate students in areas such as:
- Semiconductors – Explore silicon carbide semiconductor materials, device fabrication, and performance limits in extreme thermal environments.
- AI– Spend your summer applying machine learning to power converters, chip thermal modeling, and system optimization.
- Advanced packaging and reliability – Develop packaging solutions that push the limits of power density in mobile systems.
- Converters and power electronics – Design power converters for real applications such as EVs, drones, or fast chargers.
Build your resume while gaining hands-on experience. strengthening your skills, forming professional connections, and developing a deeper understanding of graduate school opportunities. Student benefits include in-person research, mentoring, career development, networking events, loaner research equipment, a $6,000 stipend, housing, and meal plan.
